We developed a Japanese version of RU-SATED for measuring sleep health. * The reliability of the scale was examined and found to be sufficiently high. * The results of the factor analysis conducted to examine validity showed sufficient validity.

Conclusion: The RU-SATED is a promising new instrument for measuring multi-dimensional sleep health perception among Japanese adults. Further general population studies using this Japanese version of the questionnaire should be considered.

    • The scale’s reliability was high, and factor analysis demonstrated that the test was sufficiently valid.
    • The RU-SATED-J was based on a rigorous reverse translation process and has 6 questions with 3 Likert-type responses each. The total score ranged between 0 and 12 and represented a summation of scores.
